Salaam Balak Trust was born in 1988 with a portion of the proceeds from the film "Salaam Bombay!" by Mira Nair. Salaam Balak Trust aims to give street children choices and a chance to experience the joys of childhood; joys they had forfeited in order to survive on the streets. Activities now include education, shelter, creative activities, vocational guidance, income generation projects and sports.
