If life on the streets is difficult, what must it be like if you’re under 5?

ANKUR our balwadi for under 5’s provides street mum’s a choice. Usually older siblings on the street are saddled with the little ones while the mother scrapes together a living. By giving 28 a full crèche facility, their older siblings are freed to go to school. These tiny toddlers, all under 5, are cared for by a teacher and assistant.

They are taught rhymes, told stories, have a chance at creative expression and even manage an afternoon nap!
